Greetings,

I've done a bit of research on the Wayback machine to see if I could find the mythical 1.3 spec. I've found a draft or two, but it looks like nothing was ever really agreed upon.

Here's probably the most promising draft I've found so far: http://web.archive.org/web/20071011041516/http://lolcode.com/proposals/1.3/bukkit2

Are there plans for LCI to implement any of this proposed 1.3 spec?

Thanks!

Hi!

The short answer is yes! and we are implementing it in the "future" branch of lci at https://github.com/justinmeza/lci/tree/future.

It is based on the latest version of the 1.3 proposal, http://web.archive.org/web/201204201947 ... .3/bukkit2, and implements pretty much all of it (and some additional features like file and network I/O, string manipulation, and so on).

Excellent. Thanks for pointing me to the future branch.

I'll have to start digging through the code to see what's there. I saw a lot of cool things hinted at in the 1.3 spec that I'd love to use in future Lolcode projects. Hopefully I can make the time to get into them.

Thanks again!

No problem. We need to draft a specification for the 1.3 version of the language, but for now, here are the sections in the 1.3 proposal (http://web.archive.org/web/201204201947 ... .3/bukkit2) that are implemented in the future branch:
  • Declaration
  • Deallocation
  • SRS (serious) Cast
  • FUNKSHUNS
  • BUKKITs
    • Introduction
    • Slot Creation / Assignment
      • Functions
      • Me, myself, and I
    • Alternate Syntax
    • Slot Access
    • Inheritance / Prototyping
      • Inheritance of slots
      • Functions and Inheritance
